Honing
Honematic has continued developing honing tools and techniques, and has built and installed machinery to apply this knowledge. The Honematic method maintains a higher degree of centerline accuracy than conventional honing, as well as, continuing to supply metallurgical integrity, roundness and finish to the working surface. Special tools have been designed and used for applying the honing process to external surfaces. This allows superior surfaces to be generated on long slender work pieces. Traditionally, honing is only applied on uniform diameter materials, but Honematic has developed tooling for special long tapered sections as well. These diameters range from ¼" to 24" and lengths to 300". ![]() New hone capable of honing up to 24" diameter with a 25' stroke. |
